Everybody’s bloggin’ (the Firefox song)

I didn’t join the Kallio Mozilla Jamboree yesterday, but I wrote new lyrics to Harry Nilsson’s Everybody’s Talkin’:

Everybody’s bloggin’ ’bout it
I can read all they’re sayin’
It all just echoes in my mind
People write foxy praises
I can’t see their faces
Only the hyperlinks in their blogs

I’m goin’ where the standards’ shinin’
Through the pourin’ rain
Goin’ as the browser suits my surf
Bankin’ off with the Firefox
Surfin’ the safest breeze
An’ skippin’ over the popups like a song

I’m goin’ where the standards’ shinin’
Through the pourin’ rain
Goin’ as the browser suits my surf
Bankin’ off with the Firefox
Surfin’ the safest breeze
An’ skippin’ over the popups like a song

Everybody’s bloggin’ ’bout it
I can read all they’re sayin’
It all just echoes in my mind
I say: do not leave yourself behind
Don’t let IE rule
I say: do not leave yourself behind

  1. This can’t be true. No. You’ve gone and ruined one of my favourite songs by bloggifying it, and that’s just not kosher. Sooner or later, I shall extract my revenge.

  2. It’s okay, I’ve calmed down a bit now. Perhaps life will go on after all. Everythings changed, of course, there’s no denying that. I just looked in the mirror and I think the light in my eyes has gone out. But don’t worry, I’ll probably get it back. In a year or so.

    ;)

  3. If it helps, I can tell you I’ve been there too. Once a friend of mine, when hearing Marillion’s White Russian, screwed it up for me. There’s a part in the song where Fish, quite often, sings the line "Uzis on a street corner", this friend, Swedish-speaking Finns as we are, suddenly pointed out that it sounds like "Husis on a street corner". It took some time for me to get that out of my head.
